What's a vacation without the requisite picture of a street musician? When we were in France this year, we didn't meet any musical characters but we did find a piano that looked like it had taken root, just off Colmar's busiest shopping street.
In fact Satie specifies just such a piano treatment for one of the gnossiennes (I'm leaving myself vulnerable here; not surprisingly the word isn't in the dictionary and I'm guessing at the spelling)
If I'm not working or hanging out with our 10 year old while a bouncy 5 year old dances around us, there's a good chance I'll be hammering away on our piano, reading a book or trying to sketch. I live in Prague, Czech Republic and hail from the U.S. South.

John Cage's prepared pianos come to mind for me!
The Gnossiennes are in Wikipedia - I just looked them up but have not listened yet (sleeping baby and all that).
Well, jeez, that is just the prettiest thing ever.
