The Color of Fall in Prague

Prague's trees don't turn spectacularly crimson or orange, but for a week or so each November, they do line our streets with gold. This weekend the trees and the sun conspired in a final fling of color. Everywhere we walked we saw people taking pictures of the leaves, and the children ran beneath the trees to try to catch a leaf before it reached the ground. We wound up at one of our favorite nearby parks, Grebovka, where the fallen leaves made carpets of color, perfect for scuffling through.

The colors are so rich, but the misty air makes it seem otherworldly.

We've had a golden/orange fall too, though most of the leaves have blown off the trees quite quickly.

Thank you so much for sharing these.

I'm so glad to see you posting, Julia. This fall was great - I feel like we were robbed of the last two falls, but this year it was a golden haze of "brace yourself" and I feel a lot better about winter for it.

Thank you guys for stopping by! It's rather fun to write every day, it helps shake off my perpetual writers block :-).

In my imagination, Caroline is the star of an entire series of books which girls around the world adore.

I've got the whole series and I'm saving it to read to my grand-daughters. "Caroline's adventures in autumn / school / English class etc etc etc.

And much like Angelina Ballerina's little cousin (what was his name? Henry I think) little James has many popular guest appearances.

P.S. The "James' Adventures" series has already been commissioned, right?

Caroline is an actress, and loves getting her picture taken and entertaining people. James is more of a narrator. He doesn't like cameras much but he does like to weigh in on the world around him.
