Caroline blogs on her birthday

This morning was very wonderful. It was so cool because today is my birthday. For breakfast I had a chocolate croissant and an egg and also tea out of my special tea cup. It is a special tea cup because it is Mommie’s and mine. On the teacup is a picture of a frog. His name is Jeremy Fisher. I got dressed after breakfast. I put on a short sleeve stripy t-shirt, jeans with picasu and my blue heart necklace. I then brushed my hair. My hair today is short because yesterday I went to the hairdresser. The hairdresser is my favorite hair dresser because the name of the store has my name in it. It is Salon Karolina. I like short hair because now I can brush it by myself. The End.

Happy Birthday, Caroline! You look lovely and so does your breakfast table. Is this your 6th or 7th birthday? Have a wonderful day!

(I wish you could meet my granddaughters.)

Hoppy hoppy birthday (ribbit), dear Caroline! Tonight, all of the (ribbit) tree frogs around the lake will (ribbit) serenade you with a special (ribbit, ribbit) song filled with birthday cheer! Listen for them in your dreams!

I suppose I could Google "picasu" but I'd prefer to leave it as a mystery, proof that Prague Polymath Mk 2 already has a vocabulary that exceeds mine. C is an example to us all: short sentences get the message across best and also communicate character. Finally there is a reminder of a tendency among children: proud that they've done what they set out to do they leave us in no doubt by tacking on The End (implying there's no need to read any further). I am particularly pleased to note that C is not fazed by the interchangeability of the hard K and hard C and has gone right to the heart of the matter regarding the hair salon. You have my permission to tell her I intend to send her a Thomas Pynchon novel for her next birthday.

Happy birthday Karolina!

Did you dip the chocolate croissant in the egg?

Caroline says "Thank you very much for the Birthday bests!" She was floored that people from so many different countries wished her happy birthday!

She's 7 this birthday, and has the confidence of an about to be 2nd grader who knows who her teacher will be in September, has lots of friends and has learned to read and write not only Czech but that pesky, non phonetic language - English! Apparently there is nothing like confidence to turn you into a sweetie who likes to help around the house and not fight too too much with your brother ;-).

I am late in seeing this post (phooey!), but want to add my birthday wishes! Please tell Caroline that I love her hair (and her breakfast) and that I have that very same Jeremy Fisher cup and use it often (when I'm not using the Tom Kitten or Benjamin Bunny).

Happy, happy year!
