A Swiss Winter Wonderland

Christmas in Zurich is about as magical as you can imagine - with lights reflecting off lake, candles balanced on tree and even a round bellied fireplace perfect for a Santa slide (see fireplace behind Caroline). Sibling happiness reigned!

After Christmas we spent a few days in the mountains. Because we were sledding and cross country skiing, we mostly avoided the crowds and got to venture into some quite remarkably remote places. My sister introduced us to the highest upper valley in Switzerland, Urnerboden (population 40), where we skiied, sledded, and watched the dog teams race across the valley floor (sadly, I didn't have my camera when they ran by).

Oh, gorgeous, just picture perfect scenery the way we imagine Switzerland! The sisters sure look alike and beautiful, and your kids adorable!

Oops, sorry, what happened to my name, it's not mH?!?

I was trying to guess who mH might be! Just to be accurate, the beautiful one is my twin sister, I wear the glasses and the big beam ;-).

That picture of your daughter reading looks like a postcard--positively lovely! And I love taking pictures of people from behind, too--especially kids! I take an annual "First day of school" picture of my sons walking across the field with their dad--from behind. Every year you see how they get a little taller next to him.

Should we go there for a white christmas this year?

Or New York?

Switzerland, because even when it is green and above freezing in Zurich, there is almost always snow in the mountains in late December!

How did I miss this post???

You and your sister are so cute! How lucky that you can visit each other...so jealous.

Loved your mountain photos...spectacular! What a beautiful place Switzerland is.

PS-I've finally posted my Zurich post--dedicated to someone special.
