Every Prague park hosts dandelions this time of year. They seem to grow taller here than in the States, with flower heads that stretch halfway across my hand. Caroline has a hard time resisting picking them. She tells us that "every childrens like dandelions" so she must too.
This weekend, I took a few apart to show her their seed filaments (still unaired) and the sticky milk from their stems. In this picture, she's trying to set sail a few petals before they separate from the seed.

In other news - C and I decided* that we'd send out postcards to everyone who commented on Heidi's house. Not everyone gets a Heidi postcard from Heididorf, but everyone gets a Heidi postcard. So now all I need are addresses. You can email me from my profile page.

Now I know you're such a softie I plan to take full advantage! Thanks Julia!
What a darling photo! And that IS an abundance of dandelions!!
I am a softie, ya'll found me out. Though only with friends - in business I love to negotiate with an utter passion.
It is really quite beautiful now, especially as the dandelions are often mixed with tiny yellow daisy like flowers too, making the parks look like mountain fields.
Now I'm sad because Blogger wouldn't let me post on your Heidi post, though I TRIED, I swear!
But the photo of the dandelion wishes makes me happy, so there's that.
We, too, are surrounded by millions (at least it seems so) of dandelions this time of year. The bright green fields look so beautiful in the sunshine, with all the bobbing yellow heads.
Something about their size makes them not seem so weed-like to me anymore.
PS-Be careful of Eleanor, next thing you know she'll be asking to borrow money. Trust me!
Liz - your FB comment totally counts, don't worry! I had you on my list and printed out your card Sunday. Now I just need your address (FB?).
EL - They don't seem like weeds to me here either, it's a funny thing. Are they larger in Germany than in the States to you too?
Poor Eleanor, to have a sister talking smack about her! Ya'll be nice now, you hear?
What a cute picture! I'm looking at our dandelions through the window just now, trying to see them as something other than weeds. Trying really hard....
They are so interesting for kids aren't they? Though I remember being told that the bitter taste of the sap was poison by another nasty child...
Have you tried splitting the stems a little bit, and blowing down them as it were an oboe reed? You have to round your lips over them and not touch them with your tongue to avoid the bitter, but the sound is quite powerful - it drives Molly mad!
Tagged you for a meme: seven pieces of music for springtime please!
Adorable!
